Corporate gifts: tea and handmade ceramics
A batch of sets or ceramics for your team and your clients. Tell us how many you need and we will put it together and quote it.
A gift for someone you have no idea what to give
The hard part of a gift is almost never the money — it is not knowing the other person's taste. Tea solves that better than almost anything, because you can give variety instead of a correct guess.
A sample set is three different teas in one box: if one is not for them, they try the next. No size to get wrong, no colour that clashes, it takes no shelf space and it gets finished — nobody keeps tea out of politeness.
And it is a gift that outlives the evening it is opened: one sample gives several brews, and each is drunk with somebody. That is what people remember about a gift, not the wrapping.
There are three routes here, depending on how well you know the person: a ready-made set if you know nothing about their taste; a set you assemble if you know something; a piece of ceramic if they already drink tea and what they lack is something to drink it from.
Depending on who you are giving it to
Six typical situations and what works in each. If yours is not here, write to us on WhatsApp and we will tell you what we would pick.
A strong, full-bodied red: Puma Rojo or Vicuña Roja, from Cusco. It is the closest thing to coffee that exists in leaf — direct, nothing floral. The Kimsa Wayq'o set goes that way.
The Sān Xiāng set: floral Tie Guan Yin, honeyed Jin Jun Mei, gentle Red GABA. Three different flavours, none of them harsh; if one is not for her, there are two more.
A gaiwan, or a teapot with two cups: the gift is not the object, it is the habit of sitting down to drink something together with the phone out of reach.
Do not give them more tea — they have some. Give them what to drink it from: a chahai to pour from, a cha he to look at the dry leaf, a tea tray. That is the part almost nobody buys for themselves.
The Chinese set, Sān Shān: sweet creamy Milk Oolong, dark Shu Puer for after a meal, roasted Da Hong Pao. Three genuinely different flavours — one will land.
A single sample and a cup. A small gift, no weight to it, nobody owing anybody anything.
How to choose without knowing their taste
Three questions and you are done. You need to know nothing about tea.
If yes, go red: strong, direct, close to what they already like. If not, go green or oolong: softer, no hit.
Morning, red. Afternoon, oolong — it lasts several infusions. Evening, white: soft and with no edge.
If they have nothing, a gaiwan solves everything: it works for any tea and fits in one hand. If they do, give leaf.
A set of three samples and the problem is over. That is exactly what it is for: three chances to get it right instead of one.
Ceramics: the gift for someone who already drinks tea
Part of our ceramics we make here in Peru; part we bring from China. These are pieces to use every day, not to keep in a cabinet.
Two handmade cups are never identical: the glaze colour depends on how the piece stood in the kiln. That is why every item in the shop is shown on its own, with its own photograph — what you see is the piece that arrives, not a catalogue picture.
What gets given most and bought for oneself least: the gaiwan, which works for any tea; the chahai, the little jug you pour into before serving so everyone gets the same; the cha he, the dish where you look at and smell the dry leaf before brewing. And tea trays, which turn a table into a place where tea is made.
If you are torn between leaf and ceramics: the leaf runs out, the cup stays. A gift used every morning for years is remembered differently.
A gift you cannot wrap: come and drink tea
If the person lives nearby or will be passing through the Sacred Valley, you can give them an afternoon instead of an object.
Corporate gifts: tea instead of the same panettone again
A company gift has a well-known problem: it repeats itself, and everyone knows what it cost. Tea has neither fault.
Sample sets work for a team because everyone gets the same thing and still chooses differently: one keeps the oolong, another the red. Nobody receives something they will not use.
For clients and partners there is a second advantage: the tea comes from a place with a name — Fujian, Yunnan, Taiwan and the La Convención Valley in Cusco. That is something you can tell in two sentences when handing it over, and that is half of a corporate gift.
Quantities, assembly and anything else that needs arranging we look at case by case: write to us with what you need and by when, and we will come back with a proposal.
All tea comes from one plant: Camellia sinensis
The type of tea is set not by the plant variety but by the technique: how long the leaf oxidised, how that was stopped, how it was rolled, roasted and aged. The same leaf becomes white or pu-erh: the difference is the master's hands and the hours. Tap a type and we'll show what's on the shelf.
Build your set
Ready sets of three samples — or build your own. A set costs less than buying separately.

Or build your own
Samples are different teas on one table: China, Taiwan and the Cusco valley.
One evening, one gaiwan, and you know which tea is yours without buying full bags.
Three samples: 5 % off; six: 10 %.

Looking for manzanilla, muña or hierba luisa?
We don't have them — and we say so plainly. We keep tea leaf: white, green, oolong, red, pu-erh. Tell us what you wanted the herb for and we'll pick the leaf that does the same, only tastier.
What did you want the herb for?
White tea: soft, honeyed — a tea for the evening.
Santa Paca — white leaf from Cusco. Water at 80 °C, three minutes, can be brewed twice.

Pu-erh: dark, dense, 'earthy' — what people in China drink after a heavy meal.
Shu pu-erh is never bitter or sour; 12 g lasts a week of dinners.

Floral oolong: fresh, energising without jitters, seven infusions from one spoon.
Tie Guan Yin is the most recognizable oolong, with a lilac note.

Green leaf from the Peruvian highlands: fresh, grassy, with a lemon note.
Pacha Alpaquita — green from Cusco. Water at 80 °C, never boiling.

Peruvian red: strong, sweet, from the Cusco mountains — for the morning.
Vicuña Roja — red leaf from Cusco; wakes you up like coffee, without the edge.
